To summarise the premise as best as I can: This is also one of the reasons why having a moirail is important for trolls (but again, troll romance = 2long2explain).īut anyway, even though their society is extremely dangerous and they have an extremely weird relationship system, most of them are pretty chill. This doesn't happen with everyone but it's common for highbloods to have outbursts of rage, making them very dangerous. Anyway, another important thing to remember is that trolls are more agressive the higher their blood caste is. As I said before, trolls are literally agressive to each other (maybe agressive isn't the right word, more like "angry"), but not all the time, and there's a biological reason for that due to their reproductive method but I dont want to get into it because troll romance is too hard to explain. There's also another reason for their behaviour. However not all of them are like that, ovbiously. ![]() Therefore, feelings of kindness and compassion are looked down as weakness. Their society is pretty violent after all, and when their Rites of Maturation arrive only the strongest ones are able to pass them. If I recall correctly, Trolls are a race agressive by nature, after all, the Alternian Empire is famous around the galaxy for being ruthless warriors. So, why Xefros in game is nothing like that? I read some people opinions and stuff and apparently trolls are supposed to be selfish, aggrisive and generally not very nice people. Originally posted by alijons:okay, "focusing on character interactions" sounds good to me.Īlso, I have another question that is really bugging me, not really related to my first post. Good luck with that! (and please, DON'T skip the intermission) But anyway, if you really want to know more about the trolls there's really no other option than reading the comic. If after this you're still not THAT interested in reading it, there are a few "let's read" on youtube to make things easier. So yeah, it gets better but it takes a while. ![]() The comic also ends up leaving behind its "meta-humor" and starts focusing on character interactions with the time. While it's true that John is a bit plain, they end up introducing lots of memorable characters as the story goes on. Also, the different cast of characters is one of the comic's main strenght. To answer your question: Yes, Homestuck has a plot: its a story about 4 kids who play a game that causes the world to end, and they have to figure out what the heck are now supposed to do while lots of stuff happens (stuff like "wtf there's aliens now?"). This is the problem with Homestuck, the start is really slow (it took me 3 tries to force my way though act 1), but then you reach a point when suddenly the comic gets interesting and you can't stop reading. Um, well, generally, I am hoping you can give me some reviews of Homestuck, or like, explain why it is worth reading or maybe give me some other way of getting to know characters and universe. So, does comic itself actually, um "gets better"? I mean, is there actually some kind of plot to all of it? Some characters with personality? Actual interesting story?īecause, honestly, I REALLY mean no offence, but those couple hundreds of first pages were just ridicolous, kinda boring, weird and absurd comedy comic without story. even thinking about trying to read Homestuck again is making me feel bored. I really want to know more about this universe, but. ![]() I really hope this is what they are or you guys gonna burn me), those lususes, Xefros is really great character etc. Whole time I was asking myself "Why people like it so much?"īut now, I watched Let's Play of ACT 1 of Hiveswap and the whole thing is really cool. absurd, like a some kind of comedy comic without any real plot or story or anything deep in it. And now, this is just my opinion, but I found it really reaaaaally boring and weird, like. trolls? Am I correct?), so I tried reading/playing/watching Homestuck few times, the furthest I got was maybe 100-200 pages or something about that. So, I was always interested in those dudes with horns (they are. Now, I really DON'T want any of you to feel offended or something like that. ![]() I know that's kinda weird question, but I can't think of better place to ask it.
